Higgs: rare decays and production in CMS

Chia-Ming Kuo

The discovery of a particle with a mass of about 125 GeV, with properties compatible with those expected for the Higgs (H) boson of the standard model (SM), has stimulated interest in the detailed exploration and understanding of the origin of the Brout–Englert–Higgs (BEH) mechanism. The rare Higgs decays allows us to test the SM, probe the specific couplings better and new physics. The production of double Higgs is rare but sensitive to the structure of BEH potential through the self-coupling of the Higgs boson. In this talk, the search of the rare Higgs decays and a pair of Higgs bosons will be presented based on the data collected in the CMS detector in 2016.
